Germany eSIM FAQ
How much is a Germany eSIM for a week?
Standard use, about 1GB a day, costs US$11.20 on the 10GB, 30 day plan; light use (300MB a day) US$5.30 (3GB, 15 days) and heavy use (2GB a day) US$19.50 (20GB, 30 days).
How much is a Germany eSIM for two weeks?
Standard use, about 1GB a day, costs US$19.50 on the 20GB, 30 day plan; light use (300MB a day) US$7.10 (5GB, 30 days) and heavy use (2GB a day) US$38.20 (50GB, 30 days).
Does the Germany eSIM have 5G?
Yes: all two of its networks in Germany, O2 and Vodafone, run 5G. 5G needs a 5G phone and a 5G signal where you are.
Which networks does the Germany eSIM use?
It connects to O2 (5G) and Vodafone (5G), and the eSIM uses whichever of them has the best signal where you are.
Which regional eSIM also covers Germany?
Two regional eSIMs cover Germany as well: the Europe eSIM from US$3.40 (up to 43 countries) and the Global eSIM from US$11.90 (up to 129 countries). Each covers several countries on one plan, handy if the trip also takes in the Netherlands or Liechtenstein.
Can I share the Germany eSIM data by hotspot?
Yes, on the daily plans, from US$2.80 a day; hotspot use counts toward the same daily allowance.
When do the days start on the Germany eSIM?
On first connection in Germany, not at purchase or install. Install it on wifi before you fly, up to 180 days after buying.
Can I make calls with the Germany eSIM?
No, it is data only, with no Germany number: WhatsApp and FaceTime calls work over the data.
Where does the Germany eSIM connect to the internet from?
From France, the Netherlands or the United Kingdom, so apps may see you there rather than in Germany, which mostly matters to banking and streaming.
Will a Germany eSIM work elsewhere in Europe?
This plan covers Germany only. If your trip crosses into Austria, Czechia or the Netherlands, a Europe regional plan covering 30 or more areas is the cheaper and simpler choice.
Heading somewhere else?
One eSIM can cover a whole region, handy for multi-country trips.
