For most trips through Europe the best eSIM is a regional plan with a fixed amount of data that covers every country on your route, and when we checked on 6 October 2026 RoamMore's 5GB and 10GB Europe plans for 30 days cost less than Airalo's and Nomad's, including our plans that cover France. If you want unlimited data at 1GB or 2GB a day, our Endless plan costs less for a week than any unlimited week we found; at 3GB a day or more, Airalo's week at 5GB a day costs less than Endless at 3GB.

RoamMore wrote this page and sells eSIMs for Europe, so read it with that in mind. Every rival price below was read on the brand's own Europe page on 6 October 2026, in US dollars, and links back to that page. Our prices come from our live catalogue and change when it does. If you spot a mistake, email [email protected] and we will fix it.

Our 5GB and 10GB prices are our cheapest Europe plans of that size, and those leave out France. A plan of the same size that adds France costs a little more and is still less than Airalo's and Nomad's; the Europe page lists each plan with its countries. Our Endless prices are for the Europe plan that covers France, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

The unlimited plans are not like for like. Each brand gives a different amount of full speed data a day, so compare the price at the daily amount you will really use, not the word unlimited.

Which countries does a Europe eSIM cover?

This is where Europe plans differ most, so check every country on your route before you buy.

  • RoamMore: our Europe plans cover up to 43 countries on one plan, and the lists differ from plan to plan. Our cheapest plans leave out France. Every one of them covers the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
  • Airalo: its Europe plan lists 41 countries, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Türkiye and Ukraine among them.
  • Holafly: its Europe page lists 33 countries, the United Kingdom and Switzerland among them.
  • Nomad: its Europe page lists 35 countries, the United Kingdom and Switzerland among them.

Each plan uses partner networks in each country, and your phone joins one as you cross a border. The Europe page lists the network and 4G or 5G in each country for each of our plans. Our guide to one eSIM for several European countries covers borders, ferries and the countries worth double checking.

How much data do you need for a week in Europe?

These are the daily amounts our plan finder uses. Not sure? Most people are Standard.

Your useA dayOne weekTwo weeks
Lite300MB2.1GB4.2GB
Standard1GB7GB14GB
Heavy2GB14GB28GB

So a 10GB plan covers a week of Standard use in Europe with room to spare, and a fortnight at that rate needs a bigger plan or a top up. Long train days with maps and streaming add up, so if you are unsure, plan for Standard. Our cost and data guide breaks the figures down by app.

Should you get unlimited data or a fixed plan in Europe?

A fixed plan is usually the cheaper buy if you know roughly how much you use, because one allowance stretches across light days and busy ones. Unlimited is the simpler buy if you stream, make long video calls or would rather not watch a meter.

If you do want unlimited, compare plans at the same daily amount. For Europe:

  • At 1GB a day, Endless is US$13.10 for a week, less than any unlimited week in the table and less than Nomad's 5 day plan, though each of those gives you more full speed data a day.
  • At 2GB a day, Endless is US$22.20 for a week, less than Airalo's and Holafly's weeks. Nomad also gives 2GB a day: its 10 days cost US$34 against US$30.90 for 10 days of Endless.
  • At 3GB a day or more, Airalo's week at 5GB a day is US$27, against US$30.60 for Endless at 3GB, so Airalo is the better buy. Endless at 5GB a day also slows further after the daily amount than Airalo's 1 Mbps.
  • Holafly's week is US$27.50. It states no daily amount, and says a network may slow heavy use for no more than a day.

Endless charges one price for the exact number of days you pick, so a 12 day trip is priced for 12 days, not the nearest pack. Our guide to what unlimited really means explains the daily amounts and the slower speeds after them.

When do the days start?

Our Europe plans start when the eSIM first connects to a network in a country the plan covers, so you can install it at home and it waits. Endless works the same way, and its full speed amount refills every 24 hours from that moment.

Airalo's Europe plans start on first use, Nomad's when the eSIM connects to a network or after 60 days if it has not, and Holafly says to install before your trip and activate once you arrive.

Can you use a Europe eSIM as a hotspot?

On our daily plans and on Endless, yes: sharing your connection works, and what you share counts toward the day's full speed amount. Holafly's Europe page allows 1GB of sharing a day, so a 7 day plan includes up to 7GB of shared data. If you plan to work from a laptop, ask the seller before you buy.

What should you do before you fly from New Zealand or Australia?

EU "roam like at home" rules apply only to mobile plans from carriers in the EU, so a New Zealand or Australian SIM pays its own carrier's roaming rates in Europe. Install the eSIM at home on wifi a few days before you leave, and leave it switched off. When you land, switch it on, set it as your data line and turn on data roaming for it. Keep your home SIM on for calls and texts, with its own data roaming off. Our landing day checklist walks through each step.

Our prices are in US dollars, so your bank converts the payment.

When is another brand the better choice?

  • You want unlimited at 3GB a day or more. Airalo's week at 5GB a day costs less than Endless at 3GB.
  • You would rather not count anything. Holafly states no daily amount at all, only that a network may slow heavy use for up to a day.

Choose RoamMore if you want a fixed Europe plan at the lowest price we found, no app to install, and a real person who answers by email or WhatsApp.

How did we check these prices?

We read every rival price on 6 October 2026 on the brand's own Europe page, in US dollars (Airalo with its own currency setting), with no codes, credits or memberships. We did not go through any checkout. Prices change, so each one links to the page it came from, and we check them again each month. Questions travellers ask

What is the best eSIM for Europe?

For most trips, a regional plan with a fixed amount of data that covers every country on your route. On 6 October 2026, RoamMore's 5GB and 10GB Europe plans for 30 days cost less than Airalo's and Nomad's, including our plans that cover France, and Holafly's Europe page sold unlimited plans only. If you want unlimited data at 3GB a day or more, Airalo's week at 5GB a day costs less than our Endless plan at 3GB. RoamMore wrote this answer, and every rival price on the page links to the store it came from.

Does a Europe eSIM cover the United Kingdom and Switzerland?

On most brands, yes, but check the list. Every one of our Europe plans covers the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and so do the Europe plans Airalo, Holafly and Nomad list. Our cheapest Europe plans leave out France, so if France is on your route, pick a plan that includes it.

How many countries does a Europe eSIM cover?

It depends on the plan. Ours cover up to 43 countries on one plan. Airalo's Europe plan lists 41 countries, Holafly's 33 and Nomad's page 35. The lists differ at the edges, so check every country on your route against the plan you pick.

Is 10GB enough for a week in Europe?

For most people, yes. At Standard use, about 1GB a day, a week comes to about 7GB, so a 10GB plan leaves room to spare. Two weeks at that rate needs more than 10GB, so pick a bigger plan or top up.

Can I use a Europe eSIM as a hotspot?

On our daily plans and Endless, yes, and what you share counts toward the day's full speed amount. Holafly's Europe page allows 1GB of sharing a day. If you plan to work from a laptop, ask the seller before you buy.
