One eSIM for the Silk Road: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan

Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara by train, the road from Almaty to Bishkek, then the Pamir Highway. A Silk Road trip crosses several borders, and our two Central Asia lists do not cover the same countries.
What does one eSIM for Central Asia cost?
Our plans for 30 days, in US dollars:
| Plan | 5GB | 10GB |
|---|---|---|
| Central Asia | US$13.60 | US$24.90 |
| Uzbekistan only | US$8.20 | US$14.50 |
| Kazakhstan only | US$9.40 | US$15.40 |
| Kyrgyzstan only | US$9.10 | US$14.90 |
| Tajikistan only | US$22.20 | US$38.70 |
The Central Asia row is our lowest priced Central Asia list, which covers Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, but not Tajikistan. Our Central Asia (4 areas) list covers Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and costs more, and neither list covers Turkmenistan. RoamMore wrote this page and sells these plans; every price comes from our live catalogue and changes when it does.
How a regional eSIM works in Central Asia
A regional eSIM is one eSIM with agreements across several countries. When you cross a border, your phone drops the last network and joins a partner network in the new country. There is nothing to buy at the border and no second QR code to scan.
The RoamMore Central Asia eSIM starts from US$4.50 (updated 30 Oct 2026). Both lists use Beeline in Uzbekistan (5G), Kazakhstan (4G) and Kyrgyzstan (4G). The 4 areas list adds ZET (5G) and MegaFon (4G) in Tajikistan, and the lower priced list uses Jazz (4G) in Pakistan and Mobitel (4G) in Sri Lanka. Both lists, with the network in each country, are on our Central Asia eSIM page.
One regional plan or one per country?
On our current prices, country plans cost less than the Central Asia plan for the same total data. A 5GB Uzbekistan plan at US$8.20 and a 5GB Kazakhstan plan at US$9.40 cost less together than one 10GB Central Asia plan at US$24.90, and the same holds with a Kyrgyzstan plan. Tajikistan's own plan costs more than the others, so with Tajikistan and one neighbour, two country plans and the 4 areas list come out about the same. What a regional plan buys you is one install, one balance and no switching at each border.
| Your trip | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Two of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan | Two country plans | Cost less for the same total data |
| Tajikistan and one neighbour | Compare the 4 areas list with two country plans | About the same price; the regional list saves an install |
| Many crossings, or no time to switch | A Central Asia list | One install, one balance, no switching |
Live country prices: Uzbekistan from US$3.60, Kazakhstan from US$3.70, Kyrgyzstan from US$3.70, Tajikistan from US$6.10, Pakistan from US$3.70, Sri Lanka from US$4.30. Add every country on your route to the plan finder and it compares the regional plans with a plan per country for you.
Countries to double check
- Tajikistan. Not on our lower priced Central Asia list. The Central Asia (4 areas) list covers it, on ZET 5G and MegaFon 4G, or buy a Tajikistan eSIM. If Dushanbe or the Pamir Highway is on your route, add Tajikistan in the plan finder, which only offers plans that cover every stop you add.
- Turkmenistan. On neither list. We do not sell a plan for Turkmenistan.
- Pakistan and Sri Lanka. On the lower priced Central Asia list, not on the 4 areas list. We also sell a Pakistan eSIM and a Sri Lanka eSIM.
Mountains, trains and long roads
- Mountains. The Pamir Highway and the mountains have long stretches with no signal on any network. Download offline maps, tickets and anything else you need before you set off. Our guide to remote areas covers backup plans.
- Trains. Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara are all in Uzbekistan, so one Uzbekistan plan covers that leg. Download your tickets and maps before you board, in case signal drops between cities.
- Almaty to Bishkek. Near the Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan border your phone may join the next country's network before you cross. On a plan that covers both countries, this does not matter. On a single country plan your eSIM has no service on the other side until you switch to another line, so keep your home line's Data Roaming off to avoid your own carrier's roaming charges.
If you lose signal after a border
- Wait a couple of minutes.
- Restart your phone.
- In the eSIM line settings, turn off automatic network selection and choose the carrier listed for that country on our plan page.
- Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp or email [email protected] with the country and what your screen shows.
Our landing day checklist works the same at a land border.
How much data for a Silk Road trip?
Two weeks of Standard use (maps, social media, photos and video calls) is about 14GB, and navigation on a road trip adds a little each day. Our cost and data guide has the full table.

Questions travellers ask
Which countries does the RoamMore Central Asia eSIM cover?
We sell two lists. Our lower priced Central Asia list covers Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Central Asia (4 areas) covers Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Neither covers Turkmenistan, and we do not sell a plan for it.
Is one Central Asia eSIM cheaper than one eSIM per country?
Not on our current prices. For Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, country plans cost less for the same total data. With Tajikistan on the route, its own plan costs more, so the 4 areas list and country plans come out about the same. The regional plan's real advantage is one install and one data balance that follows you across borders.
Does it work in Tajikistan and on the Pamir Highway?
Only the Central Asia (4 areas) list covers Tajikistan, on ZET 5G and MegaFon 4G, and we sell a Tajikistan eSIM too. The mountains have long stretches with no signal on any network, so download offline maps before you set off.
Do I need to do anything when I cross a border?
On a plan that covers both countries, usually nothing. Your phone joins a partner network in the new country within a few minutes. If it does not, restart your phone or pick the network by hand in your eSIM settings.
