Travelling in Thailand: what to know
TrueMove H and DTAC, not AIS
The eSIM roams on TrueMove H and DTAC, both with 5G, and your phone uses whichever is stronger. It does not use AIS, so check a TrueMove H or DTAC coverage map, not an AIS one, before a trip off the main routes.
Islands and ferries
Phuket, Koh Samui and the other main islands are on the same national networks as Bangkok. On ferry crossings and longer boat trips signal comes and goes, so download tickets and maps before you board.
Data only, no Thai number
There is no Thai number on the eSIM and no ordinary calls or texts. Ride apps and others that sign you in by text message send the code to the number on your account, so keep your home SIM switched on with its Data Roaming off.

Landing in Bangkok or Phuket
Turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, turn Data Roaming on for it and choose it for mobile data. It usually connects within a few minutes. If it does not, restart the phone rather than deleting the eSIM.
